Many people are unsure as to what to expect when they are considering beginning the counselling and psychotherapy process. They can also feel anxious or nervous which is a very normal way to feel at this time. From the beginning of the process it is my aim to provide a warm, non-judgemental, supportive and fully accepting space for you.
Some of the issues that I help my adult clients to work through include:
- Low self-esteem and confidence
- Relationship difficulties
- Childhood issues
- Physical, Emotional and Sexual Abuse
- Work Related Issues
- and many more
What To Expect
One of the first things that we will discuss is your expectations of therapy. Our goal will be to identify and work through the problems or issues that may be causing you unhappiness in your life. Within this therapeutic space you will bring your own agenda and we will work at a pace that you are comfortable with.
I can help you to look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours as well as present and past issues that may be holding you back from enjoying your life the way that you would like to.
Each session will last approximately 60 minutes and will usually be at the same time each week. The length of time in therapy varies from person to person and is set on an open-ended basis. We will review the therapy process every 6 weeks so as to make sure that you are benefiting from therapy and feel as though you are progressing in the right direction for you.
